There is a mindset that the only benefits to electric cars are the significantly reduced fuel costs and a reduction in pollutants put out in the air. Those in the industry know there is another major benefit that isn’t as widely known.
Maintenance costs on full electric vehicles and even hybrid vehicles, can be rather substantial. Michael J Coren of Quartz (qz.com) has written a great piece about New York city’s fleet of passenger vehicles and what they found. And the results are no surprise to those familiar with electric vehicles, at least in the short term. It will be interesting to follow their progress over the next few years.
